Cheap Hotels near Jet d'eau Geneva
The jet d’eau (water jet) is one of Geneva’s most iconic landmarks. Situated at the point where the lake flows into Rhone River, the water jet was first installed in 1886 but was re-erected in its present location in 1891 to mark the 600th anniversary of the Swiss Confederation.
The jet d’eau’s stats are almost impressive as the fountain itself: 500 litres of water per second are shot 140 metres into the air at 200km per hour. This stunning feat of engineering operates every day of the year (wind permitting) and also in the evenings from spring to autumn, when it is illuminated by floodlights. The fountain, one of the largest in the world, will leave you spellbound, as will our range of cheap accommodation in Geneva.
